Since January 2004, I have had the privilege and responsibility of overseeing the
Youth Ministries here at Peniel Baptist Church. We meet at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday
mornings for Sunday School in the Youth House. On Wednesday afternoons at 5:00 p.m.,
our teenagers meet with Bro. Randy Rogers in the Sanctuary for Youth Choir. Also
on Wednesdays at 6:00 p.m., the 7th and 8th graders meet in the Church building for
AWANA Trek while the 9th-12th graders meet in the Youth House for AWANA 24/7.

Our goals for Youth Ministry at Peniel Baptist Church are twofold:
first, reaching teenagers where they are and second, helping them move to
the next level in their personal walk with God.

We, as leaders, believe it is our responsibility to provide a safe and loving
environment for your teenager and at the same time to challenge him or her in their
walk with God. The other ise of our responsibility is to be Godly examples that the
teens can follow by knowing God and making Him known in the way that we live our lives

We have several events that we participate in during the year that work towards
our goals. Such as 24/7 Expo Weekend (State AWANAs competition in Fine Arts, Bible
Quizzing, and the AWANA games for 9th-12th graders) at the end of January, True Love
Waits Rally and Study, Trek Jam Weekend (Bible Quizzing and AWANA games for 7th
and 8th graders), Summit (National AWANA Competitions for 9th-12th grades in Fine
Arts, Bible Quizzing, AWANA games, Three on Three Basketball and Five on Five
Volleyball), Youth Choir Trip during the SUmmer and a Youth Conference & Ski Trip
over the Christmas break. These are a few of hte major events we do duriung the course
of a year.

What do I think are strong points of our programs? That is an easy question.
The leaders that God has put in place here at Peniel Baptist Church are the best. They
truly love the teens and are dedicated to building relationships with them.

We also believe that your teenagers are not just leaders of tomorrow. We
believe that they can be leaders of today.

Our promise to you and your teenager is to do our best to point him or her to
Christ, to help him or her walk in His ways, and to be there to help both of you
in any way that we can.
